Ice storm

 Everyone got to stay home for the whole week due to a crazy ice storm. It was beautiful though!

Seminary graduation

Paxton graduated early. In order to do that he finished his last semester of seminary online, while attending his classes in the Fall. His teachers worked it out with him. Then, since he would be on his mission by the time graduation for his classmates would come around his leaders put his graduation diploma together and mailed it to Bishop Bendall so that he would be able to receive it at church. 

His teacher left this note inside the diploma for our Bishop to have an idea what kind of person Paxton was. 

We have the best people in our Church. They really went out of their way to make sure that he would get this before he left on his mission! Thank you Brother Porter! ❤️

Feats of strength

 We are fixing up the deer blind or the kennel in the back 40 to raise chickens. It had a tree trunk in the middle of it when we moved in. The boys cut up the tree and then for days they were going outside to chop wood as a work out.

 So far our favorite thing to do in Tennessee is to watch Race play Basketball!! He played on  Brighton league and his team was the Blue Beasts. We had no idea signing him up for basketball that he could even play. I marked him down as a beginner. They did some try outs to place him on his team and then we had an almost three month long season. We would have paid money to see these games! I think they were more exciting then any other basketball game I have ever been to!

His coaches were high school seniors and on the Brighton Bball team. They really took the time to teach these kids to play. Race came out almost immediately doing layups and shooting buckets! I had no idea this kid could play! 

I wish that I could add video to this but the games were so exciting and all you can hear is Mom, Dad and the kids screaming our guts out for the kid and his team! So Much Fun!!!

They were the season champs! It was close but they out played the ballerz!!!!

Go Saints

Race is a HUGE Saints fan! He loves the Saints almost as much as he loves BYU!

Paxton decided to take Race to New Orleans so that he could watch his favorite team live! (and to see Taysom Hill of course)

New Orleans is 6 hours South of us. Paxton did all of the driving, paid for the tickets and gave Race a memory he will never forget. Race says that this is the best day of his life! It was a lot to take in! They got poured on going into the stadium and coming out there were people playing “when the Saints go marching in” on trumpets, then the sun came out. They said it was like the whole city stopped for the game. 

I was really impressed that Paxton would do something so thoughtful for his little bro! I don’t think either of them will ever forget it! 

Race didn’t stop smiling and half of the time he was shaking because he was so overwhelmed and excited!

Made it to Tennessee

 A huge storm hit the United States and freezing temps caused power outages and ice everywhere. This is the weather I drove home in 🥶❄️☃️
